Lions Optimistic Nathan Rourke Will Return Soon After Injury Assessment

Update on BC Lions Quarterback

Injury Severity to be Determined

The BC Lions are optimistic that their star quarterback, Nathan Rourke, will return from injury sooner than expected. Co-general manager Neil McEvoy provided an update to CHEK's Don Taylor, indicating that Rourke will undergo an assessment in Vancouver to determine the severity of his foot injury.

The Lions suffered a setback when Rourke sustained a foot injury during their 28-10 road win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter, forcing the Lions to play without their young star quarterback.

In a separate development, TSN's Farhan Lalji reported that Lions quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.'s knee is structurally stable and has no ligament damage. Adams Jr. was forced out of Saturday's game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders with a knee injury after being sacked.

As of Wednesday, Rourke was participating in first-team reps during practice, indicating progress in his recovery from the foot injury.
